week3 Annalisa Natali

Annalisa Natali Murri
(198l-  )
Annalisa Natali Murri is a freelance photographer. She travelled to Bangladesh in 2014 to document the lives of some survivors, many of whom suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder, also known as PTSD, which can leave mental scars for months or years following the incident.

I like her documentary photography because it really how the reality of people who are suffering from pain.Besides, some of the photos have special characteristic.I can feel the deep desire from the people in her photos.

Like this photo bellow, some children in the photo are edited to transparent. These gives me kinda feelings also portray the emotions at that time.
Most people in her photos looks upset. In that condition, Annalisa Natali shows the scene of their life.

The intention of Annalisa Natali's photography was hence to draw out the invisible, psychological aftermath of the disaster, focusing on PTSD affectd victims and their struggle to conduct a normal life. Actually through her photo i can real experience the tough life and it is really touching.

Through the portraits of these survivors, relatives of the victims and rescue workers try to give shape to their fears and memories in a chaotic and disorienting merge of their own ghosts, derived from the trauma, which everyday and night threaten their minds.
This photo above is my favorite. It is so attractive when i see the light shine in the air and the water drop down.It is more touching to editing into black and white.

week2 Clarissa Bonet

Clarissa Bonet
(1986-  )
Clarissa Bonet is a Chicago photographer. She became fascinated and intrigued by the urban space after moving to Chicago and has been investigating it ever since. Her work is about city space and start night.I really like her work because it gives people a mysterious feeling. Also the light and reflection is very very spacial and nice.

Especially, I love this black and white photo.Even most part is dark, people who passing by makes the photo more meaningful.
Clarissa Bonet gives me some inspirations about taking people and cities.Even though she just take very common scene in Chicago, but her sense of taking photos makes the  urban space  striking. It is full of  tall and mysterious buildings, crowds of anonymous people.

Clarissa Bonet uses stark light, deep shadow and muted color as her visual strategies. It gives me many inspirations that if we do theme like these we should keep exploring and describe the city.
Through her work, i feel like she uses the city as a stage and transform the physical space into a psychological one. The images that she  creates do not represent a commonality of experience but instead provide a personal interpretation of the urban landscape.

She is so good on taking on walking people, their steps are nature not very weird. Also the shadow is very artistic.

Week1 Henri Cartier-Bresson

                                                        Henri Cartier-Bresson
                             (1998-2004)
Henri Cartier-Bresson is a realism photographer. Most of his photos
were about people in daily life or some special events.Every person in his camera looks charming and attractive. They are full of stories.Henri loved to take black-and-white pictures.Even without color,he can portray the emotion and situation in a black-and-white picture.
This street photo, the man with sharp eyes were hugging a kid. They      seemed like suffer from war's pain.Henri spent a lot of time across the region after war.I guess this photo was taken in war times. It is hard to capture some emotions from strangers' face.Though Henri's photos,i think photographers need to observe a lot in daily life.

These three are also street photos.I think street photos need much patient. If you don't have patient, you won't capture some great moment. When someone walk by,and he/she is the right person to complete your image, shot immediately.
This famous photo show the Muslim women prayed to Masjid.I love this photo, because it is very sacred. The woman who was standing is like touching the sky.Even though i can not see her face,i still can feel that she is holy.
Henri used wall as the frame which is very special. It really inspired me.Try to find some decoration as the frame. It makes the picture more special.
Henri used three sides to the old man.The real man,the man in the mirror and his self-portrait.It's quite meaningful. It makes me want to capture some emotions in a picture.
The fishing net fill the photo. It's very imposing.
